AREZOO RIAHI

Arezoo Riahi has been an integral part of The Marin Foundation from its conceptualization in October 2003. Arezoo’s powerful mind and eclectic talents have been of the utmost importance to The Marin Foundation, as her greatest influence has come within the realm of social manifestations within the GLBT community in regards to mainstream populations. Arezoo is one of the tri-creators of the GLBT Sexual and Spiritual Acculturation Scale (Marin-Riahi-Kwak, 2003) ©, and she is also serving on The Marin Foundation Advisory Board.

Arezoo received her Masters Degree from The Irving B. Harris School of Public Policy at The University of Chicago in March 2007. Her academic focus is in International Human Rights Policy, where she is most interested in GLBT rights, children’s rights, and torture and abuse issues.

Arezoo received her B.A. in International Affairs from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and minored in sociocultural anthropology. During her undergraduate career, Arezoo studied Arab History and Language at Al-Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco, and studied French Culture and Language at La Sorbonne in Paris, France.

In addition, Arezoo has held internships at the United Nations World Summit on the Information Society in Geneva, Switzerland, the U.S. Department of State Office of International Economic Affairs in Geneva, Switzerland, and the Leadership Council on Civil Rights in Washington, D.C.

Arezoo currently lives in San Francisco, CA and she is pleased to serve on the Advisory Board for The Marin Foundation and looks forward to promoting programs supporting the GLBT and religious communities.
